Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering, NSN, certifications, shipping and more.

Ordering & Payment
RFQ, MOQ, lead time
How do I submit a Request for Quote (RFQ)?

Use our Contact page to submit your RFQ with part numbers, quantities, and required delivery. You can also build a quote list on any product page by checking the parts you need and clicking "View Basket" — your selected parts are passed directly to the quote form. We respond within one business day.

Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

There is no strict MOQ. We supply both small prototype quantities and large production runs. Pricing and lead time may vary depending on quantity — please contact us for a tailored quotation.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank wire transfer (T/T), letter of credit (L/C) for larger orders, and other standard trade payment terms. Payment conditions are agreed at the quotation stage and confirmed in the purchase order.

What are your standard lead times?

Lead times depend on stock availability. For in-stock items, dispatch is typically within 3–5 business days after order confirmation. For items requiring procurement or production, lead time ranges from 4–12 weeks. We always confirm lead time in the quotation.

Can I cancel or modify an order after placement?

Order modifications or cancellations may be possible depending on production status. Please contact us as soon as possible. Orders already in production or shipped cannot be cancelled, and restocking fees may apply.

NSN & Certifications
Traceability, C of C, material certs
Do your parts come with a Certificate of Conformance (C of C)?

Yes. All orders are shipped with a Certificate of Conformance declaring conformity to the applicable military standard (MS, NAS, or AS specification). The C of C includes part number, NSN, quantity, lot/heat number, and our quality representative's signature.

Are Material Test Reports (MTRs) available?

Yes. Material Test Reports from the mill are available on request for most parts. MTRs cover chemical composition and mechanical properties of the raw material. Please specify your requirement at the RFQ stage so we can confirm availability.

Can you provide NSN (National Stock Number) documentation?

Yes. Where a valid NSN is assigned to a part, we document it on the C of C and packing list. Our product tables also list NSNs for each part number so you can cross-reference before ordering. FSC 5315 covers most of our pin range, FSC 4730 covers pipe fittings.

What quality system do you operate under?

MET operates under ISO 9001. Our processes include incoming inspection, dimensional verification, and documentation control to ensure full traceability from raw material to finished part.

Are your parts traceable to original manufacturer or mill?

Yes. All parts are traceable by heat/lot number to the original mill or manufacturer. Documentation is retained on file and available for audit purposes. Full traceability chain is provided with every shipment upon request.

Products
Standards, materials, finishes
What military standard parts do you supply?

We specialise in MS and NAS standard aerospace fasteners and fittings: clevis pins (MS20392, MS9462–MS9468, MS9842–MS9848, MS24692, MS16556), taper pins (MS9389, MS9390), spacers (NAS42, NAS43), bushings (NAS72–NAS77, MS35771, MS35772), pipe fittings (MS14315, MS51847), and AS121601 series pins.

What materials and finishes are available?

Materials include alloy steel (AMS5616), carbon steel, CRES (corrosion-resistant steel/stainless), bronze (SAE 660), and brass. Finishes available include cadmium plate, chromium plate, passivated, aluminium/solid film, and uncoated per the applicable MS/NAS specification.

Can you supply non-catalogue or custom part numbers?

If a part number is within the MS or NAS specification range but not listed in our online tables, please contact us — we can likely source or produce it. We do not manufacture parts to customer-specific drawings outside the military standard range.

Are your parts new manufacture or surplus?

All parts supplied by MET are new manufacture — not surplus, used, or reconditioned. We do not deal in military surplus stock. Every part is manufactured to the current revision of the applicable military standard.

Shipping & Export
Worldwide delivery, Incoterms, customs
Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We export worldwide from our facility in Ankara, Turkey. We have experience shipping to Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America. Air freight, sea freight, and express courier options are available depending on urgency and order size.

What Incoterms do you offer?

We typically ship EXW (Ex Works, Ankara) or FCA. CIF, DAP, and DDP can be arranged for larger orders. Preferred Incoterms are confirmed at the quotation stage.

Can you provide export documentation and customs support?

Yes. We prepare all standard export documentation including commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and EUR.1 or A.TR movement certificates where applicable. We can also provide ECCN classification and assist with customs clearance documentation for defence procurement.

How is packaging done for sensitive aerospace parts?

Parts are individually wrapped or bagged, labelled with part number and lot number, and packed in sturdy cartons or wooden crates for international shipment. VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) packaging is used for metal parts where required. Special packaging requirements should be specified at the order stage.

Technical
Dimensions, specifications, substitutions
Where can I find dimensional drawings for MS/NAS parts?

Dimensional data is available from the relevant military standard documents (MS or NAS drawings). Many are available through the Defence Standardisation Programme or ASSIST (the US DoD standards repository at quicksearch.dla.mil). Our product pages list key dimensions for each part number to assist with selection.

Can MS20392 pins be substituted with NAS1017?

MS20392 and NAS1017 are dimensionally equivalent clevis pins — the NAS1017 drawing superseded the MS20392 in many applications. In most cases they are interchangeable, but always verify with your engineering authority before substituting in a qualified design. We supply both designations.

What is the difference between MS9462 and MS20392 series pins?

Both are clevis pins, but they differ in head style and finish code system. MS20392 uses a straight head with a numeric dash system and letter finish codes (C=cadmium, R=chromium etc). MS9462–MS9468 are also straight-headed clevis pins but cover a slightly different diameter range (0.124"–0.497") and use a simpler dash numbering system.

What is the shear strength of a typical MS20392 clevis pin?

Shear strength depends on pin diameter, material, and heat treatment. For cadmium-plated alloy steel MS20392 pins to AMS5616, single shear strength values range from approximately 450 lbf for the smallest sizes up to several thousand lbf for larger diameters. Refer to the MS20392 drawing and material specification for precise values, or contact us for technical data sheets.
